Meet Baashobe Majumdar, chain smoker and food lover, starting his journey towards a fitter life.
We have to ask, what does your name mean?
“It means king of gods; one of Lord Indra’s names were Baashobe.”
Do you live up to any of the Bengali stereotypes?
“Well, the love for food! I used to be able to eat anything anytime; not anymore. Like most Bengalis, I also have a pretty sensitive gastric system (laughs), but I manage to control myself somehow.”
What made you decide to join The Transformation?
“Firstly, a nagging wife. (Laughs) Cut that! Having said that, it seemed like an opportunity to for me to go back to being healthy. I’ve been smoking 20 cigarettes a day for a decade and a half now, my health hasn’t been great, and my stamina isn't what it used to be.
I also just launched my own company called madeforme.in, and with the long working hours of a startup, fitness has taken a bit of a backseat. I signed up for The Transformation because I’ve realized it’s extremely important to work on your fitness, especially if you lead a stressful life."
